The project idea comes up with my personal experience. As a non-native English speakers and a college students, overpriced goods is always a problem for me when doing grocery shopping. For example, I bought a bottle of orange juice in H-mart for $5. And later on that day when I went out for dinner, I found the same orange juice only sold for $3 in Whole Food Market. After communicate with my teammates, we find out we all have similar experience with such problem, as a result, we would like to design a application to solve the problem.
Based on the discussion we had in inspiration section, we come up with a problem statement: Our study group, Munchies, is developing a supermarket price-crossing mobile application to help budget grocery shoppers solve the issue of buying overpriced groceries at one market when it is much cheaper at another with a platform that allows users to look up specific goods and display what all nearby supermarkets are pricing.
Competitive Analysis
Each team members were assigned to do two applications that provide similar services to our product for competitive analysis. I choose Google Sponsor and Uber Eats because these are two applications I used most frequently. Information are collected and also use in the later design progress.

Each of our researchers Sana Trieu, Kevin Luu and me chose one of the IDEO methods to learn more about user experience and improve our product design based on the result. Below are screenshots of each IDEO method we used with a link to the detailed user research document.
Storyboard
The storyboard shows that how the user would use our application Pocket Market to help them do grocery shopping. Based on our user research result, following storyboard tells how Tom and Amy(example users) save money with our app.
